Large data storage is handled by a TrueNAS Mini with four 10 TB drives. This keeps bulk storage separate from the Proxmox cluster’s Ceph-backed VM and container storage.

The TrueNAS system is used for capacity-oriented storage where spinning disks make more sense than the NVMe-backed cluster pool.

Hardware

  • TrueNAS Mini.
  • 4 10 TB drives.

Role

The NAS provides large shared storage for data that does not need to sit directly on the Proxmox VM and container storage layer. It complements the Ceph pool by handling capacity-focused storage separately from active workload disks.
