The Proxmox Backup Server runs on a Beelink Me Mini dedicated to backup storage for the Proxmox cluster. The system is populated with six 1 TB NVMe SSDs and is separate from the primary compute nodes.

Keeping backup storage on a dedicated machine separates recovery data from the cluster storage pool. The Proxmox nodes can use Ceph for active VM and container storage while backup jobs land on the backup server.

Hardware

  • Beelink Me Mini.
  • 6 1 TB NVMe SSDs.

Role

This system stores backups for virtual machines and containers running on the Proxmox cluster. It exists as a recovery target rather than general-purpose application storage.
